OUR HISTORY |
Founded in
1944, Valley Transportation Group began its existence as the
Scottsdale Transfer & Truck Company, providing household goods
moving services to the city of
Scottsdale,
Arizona.
|
|
In 1956
the name was changed to Valley Transportation & Warehouse
Company - and so began the name synonymous with today's global
leader in relocation, high-value and sensitive products
transportation, distribution and logistics services.
|
|
|
|
In 1961 Valley
Transportation & Warehouse ended its status as an independent
carrier and joined the North American Van Lines agency family. In
doing so Valley began to also offer transportation of high-value and
sensitive products, trade show exhibit materials, and corporate
facility relocation services. |
|
|
|
In 1965 Valley
Transportation & Warehouse built their first new corporate
facility in nearby
Phoenix, Arizona,
and began to service the entire valley, effectively covering all of
Maricopa County in central Arizona. Shortly following, in 1971
Valley Transportation & Warehouse expanded into
Tucson,
Arizona,
covering the southern part of the state. |
|
|
|
In 1980 Valley
Transportation & Warehouse was sold by its founder Thomas Moffit
to then partners Michael Logan and Michael Ruggieri. Following the
purchase of the Phoenix and Tucson, Arizona agencies, in 1984 Valley
expanded into Reno, Nevada with the purchase of another North
American agent. Again in 1985, Valley expanded into
Albuquerque
and Santa Fe, New Mexico with yet another North American agency
acquisition. In 1986 Valley began construction on its second
warehouse and new corporate facility. |
|
|
|
Combining its
specialized fleet of vans with air freight and ocean shipping,
in 1990 Valley Transportation & Warehouse began its own air, ground
and ocean freight division, Valley Air Freight. Continuing its
expansion into more profitable areas of the transportation industry,
in 1995 Valley opened its logistics division, Logistics Management
Incorporated (now VTG Logistics, Inc.), which provides creative
logistics and outsourcing solutions that are tailor fit to meet the
unique needs of its customers. And in 1998, the network of
companies now known as the Valley Transportation Group broke ground
on its third warehouse location and current corporate headquarters
in Phoenix, Arizona.
|
|
|
|
The current
managing partners, Michael Logan, President, and Richard Logan
II, Executive Vice President, look to the future of Valley
Transportation Group with great excitement and anticipation. For
over 60 years, Valley Transportation Group has provided superior
service through its commitment to excellence, top quality management
teams and dedicated employees. As one of North American Van Lines'
oldest, largest and most experienced agents, rest assured that
Valley Transportation Group has the personnel, equipment, experience
and communications technology to deliver your possessions and
products safely and on time. |
